Upcoming Election Days

The information below was sent from Mr. Lenosky via email to all William Penn parents & guardians on Tuesday, February 6th:

Dear Parents and Guardians of William Penn Elementary School Students:

I am writing today to inform you of our plan for the operation of our school on the upcoming scheduled election days:

  • Tuesday, March 13, 2018

  • Tuesday, May 15, 2018

As you may be aware, many of the schools in Bethel Park serve as polling locations on election days, including William Penn. At William Penn, the polling area will be located in the Conference Room.  With that in mind, we have established the following plan in order to safely and efficiently operate our school on the above-referenced election days.

  • During student arrival and dismissal between 8:45-9:30 AM and 3:15-4:00 PM, the students and parents will use the side entrance.  Two bus proctors and three paras will direct student traffic.

  • At no time will students have to cross traffic.  They will remain on the sidewalk until boarding the busses.  Students will not be intermixed with the voting public.

  • Students will have access to the Nurse’s Office and access to the Main Office via the Instructional Aides’ Office.

  • There will be an enhanced security presence in the building, so as to assist in monitoring the lobby area and insure no voters exit the lobby to other areas of the building.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. I can be reached by phone at 412.854.8521 or email at lenosky.brian@bphawks.org.
